Launching the latest patented solution from the engineering team at Grydale® – an onboard dust extraction system for Skid Steers.
With an expertise in dust control Grydale has developed and patented a micro dust extraction system for any Skid Steer units operating multi-functional and rotary broom attachments to provide effective dust control at the source, without the use of water.
The onboard dust extraction system consists of flexible and solid ducting which runs between the Negative Air Pressure Sweeper (NAPS) and the Dust Control Unit, mounted at the rear of the Skid Steer.
The Dust Control Unit features a twin-stage axial fan (powered by an electric or hydraulic motor), a fan diverter, patented dual SpinX separators to discharge heavy particles from the incoming air stream, floating filter frame, panel filter, and hopper with slide gate discharge. The support frame has been designed to fit any Skid Steer make and model, new or old.
Skid Steers are often used on infrastructure projects both above and below ground and potentially generate hazardous silica dust from the ground that poses a risk to construction workers. This latest product development further demonstrates our commitment to engineering excellence and product innovation.

Grydale Patented Onboard Dust Control Solution
Skid steers equipped with sweeping attachments are commonly used in construction, demolition, and industrial settings to clean sites and manage debris. Clearing loose materials from work sites creates a safer, more organized environment, improves visibility, and eliminates slip hazards. However, the sweeping process can generate dust by disturbing fine particles on the ground. These particles may become airborne and spread into the surrounding environment.
Respirable dust presents a significant health and safety risk for workers. Fine dust particles can penetrate the lungs, leading to respiratory diseases such as silicosis. Additionally, inhaling airborne dust can degrade air quality, cause eye irritation, and reduced visibility, increasing the risk of accidents. Workplace regulations impose strict limits on exposure to hazardous dust and significant penalties can be imposed for failure to comply.
To protect worker health and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, effective dust control measures are essential when using Skid Steers with sweeping attachments.
Using our expertise in dust control, we have developed and patented a dust control solution for Skid Steer units operating multi-functional and rotary broom attachments. This solution provides effective dust control at the source without the use of water.
Our dust control system features flexible and rigid ducting that connects the Negative Air Pressure Sweeper (NAPS) to the dust control unit mounted at the rear of the Skid Steer.
The dust control unit is equipped with a centrifugal fan powered by the Skid Steer’s hydraulic system, high-efficiency filters, a reverse pulse filter cleaning mechanism, and a hopper with a pneumatic slide gate discharge.
